Water The Foundation of Health (Part 1)

Not Sexy or Fancy but TRUE

The supplement and health industry is constantly changing. New information is discovered daily. Products are developed to bring greater health to the masses.

You’d think with all the available options that we would all be feeling great, but that just isn’t true. There is a lot of information out there that exists just to sell a product or program. Where do you go for truth? I don’t have an answer for everyone and their situation but I do know foundational truths that are absolute for every person - no matter your health or concern.

We were created by God to keep our bodies working optimally by taking care of specific needs.

These absolutes are:

Water

Sunshine and fresh air

Natural food

Rest

Activity

Healthy environment

Intellectual challenges

Community

Relationship with God

Let’s start with our first absolute - water. I know it’s not fancy to start with something so simplistic as water but that’s the first question I ask someone needing help with any physical or emotional health issue.

Adequate water is vital for your well-being.

Name a health issue and I can say with confidence that without enough good, clean, energetic water you will not see that issue resolve. I’ll say it again, you need to drink water. In Dr. Batmanghelidj’s book, Your Body’s Many Cries for Water he says, “In advanced societies, thinking that tea, coffee, alcohol, and manufactured beverages are desirable substitutes for the purely natural water needs of the daily ‘stressed’ body is an elementary but catastrophic mistake.” Strong statement, but I agree.

How much water do you need daily?

A basic starting point is easy to calculate. You want to take your weight (in pounds) and divide it by two.

Here’s the equation:

Your weight in lbs. ____÷ 2 = _____ (oz. of water you need daily)

This would be your minimum amount of water daily.

Add more water if:

you exercise and sweat

talk a lot

live in a dry climate

live in a hot climate

are working on detoxifying your body

drink coffee, soda, alcohol or other dehydrating beverages

Starting with this one simple thing can make an amazing difference in your life.

Years ago when I first found out this information I was drinking about 32 ounces of water per day and didn’t feel poorly. I thought I would do an experiment and see if I would feel better drinking more water. My dad was a science teacher and I love to experiment so I increased my water another 16 ounces per day for a week. I weighed about 145 lbs at the time so my minimum water intake should have been about 73 ounces daily. I didn’t jump to the 73 ounces because I thought that was way too much. I wanted to test and see.

As I increased my water I realized I had more energy, I could think more clearly and I started to sweat when physically active. I have never sweat much and I knew that was a problem but had no clue how to fix it. I was feeling better so I increased my water intake to 73 ounces by increasing 16 ounces per week. As I slowly drank more water daily emotional stability kicked in more often - I could enjoy life. This may sound crazy to you but I didn’t know I felt poorly until I realized how good I could feel. How good can you feel?

If you want to do an experiment and drink more water. I’d love to hear what you notice. Don’t go whole hog and down 73 ounces of water when you’ve been drinking 16 ounces daily. Drink slowly throughout the day and increase by a cup every couple of days until you reach your target. You may be in the bathroom a little more often at first but I promise (I’m 100% confident in this) you will see over the next couple of weeks that your visits to the bathroom will be less frequent. You will be able to hold off going to the bathroom longer and won’t be urgently running to the bathroom as often.

If you are concerned about having to go to the bathroom more at night just finish drinking your water earlier in the afternoon. I drink a lot more water early in the day because it gets my energy going.

Summer Energy Low? Here's Why by Kari Barron It's been a minute since I sat down to write one of these. I usually post monthly, and then June happened — I got so deep into filming a four-part video series that the blog took a back seat. So first, thank you for your patience. Second, I actually think that series is worth catching you up on here, because if you didn't watch all four videos, you missed some things I think you need to hear. The whole series was called Designed to Heal, and the theme was simple: summer wasn't meant to feel like this. Here's the short version of what we covered, and why it matters for you right now — not just in theory, but this week. Summer is supposed to feel like freedom. For a lot of you, it feels like more demands with less of you to give. We started the month naming something most women won't say out loud — the guilt of being exhausted during the "happiest" season of the year. Pool days, cookouts, road trips, everyone else seeming to come alive — and you're counting down to bedtime. I want to be blunt with you: that is not because you're weak, not trying hard enough, or just getting older. Summer removes the routine that's been quietly holding your body together all year. No school schedule, more heat, more social pressure, worse sleep. It doesn't make you sicker. It pulls back the curtain on what your body has been managing the whole time. That's actually useful information — if you know how to read it. Normal on a lab report is not the same as well. This is the one I hear about the most. You've sat in an office, described everything — the fatigue that sleep doesn't touch, the brain fog, the weight that won't move, the moods that don't feel like yours — and been told everything looks normal. I need you to hear this: conventional labs are built to catch disease. They are not built to answer "why don't I feel well." Those are two different questions, and you've been getting answers to the wrong one. Your instinct was right. Something has been happening — it just wasn't being looked for with the right tools. Something specific is draining you, and it's usually invisible on a standard panel. If you've been doing everything right — clean eating, better sleep, the supplements you researched — and you're still not better, you're not failing. You just haven't found the hole in the boat yet. You can bail water all day, but if there's a hole, you're still sinking. For a lot of women, that hole is a hidden infection pattern (viral, bacterial, parasitic, even tickborne — I've got my own story about that one) or a toxin load the body has been storing away to protect your vital organs. Both take constant background energy to manage. That's why the fatigue doesn't add up to what you're actually doing day to day. Managing symptoms and healing are not the same — and this summer can still be different. We closed the series with the difference between coping and actually healing. Coping means you've built your whole life around the exhaustion — skipping the afternoon plans, keeping caffeine close, saying yes and dreading it. Healing means removing what's actually in the way so your body can do what it was designed to do. God didn't design you to merely cope. Psalm 139 says you're fearfully and wonderfully made — not to survive the day, but to thrive in it. You are not too far gone, not too complicated, not a lost cause, and not behind. Want the full teaching behind any of these — the client stories, my own tickborne story, the faith close? All four videos are on my YouTube channel: Why Summer Feels Harder Than It Should , Your Labs Came Back Normal , The Quiet Drain , and What If This Was the Summer Everything Changed? So what do you do with all of this? Every one of these conversations lands in the same place: you need a real starting point, not another guess. That's exactly what the Root Cause Landscape blood panel gives you. It's $99, and instead of asking "does this person have a disease," it asks what's actually standing between your body and the health God designed it to have — hidden infection stress, toxin burden, whether your cells are producing energy the way they should, whether your body is actually using the nutrition you're giving it. We don't guess. We investigate. 👉 Order your Root Cause Landscape here And if you'd rather understand the test before you order it, I host a free Live Open House every month where I walk through the markers and answer questions live — no cost, no personalized review, just clarity. Go to the Events page and sign up. If any part of this recap felt like it was describing you, that's not a coincidence. Your body has been telling you something for a while. It's time to have the right tools to hear it. In His grace, Dr. Kari DISCLAIMER: Dr. Kari Barron is a Board Certified Doctor of Natural Medicine, not a medical doctor.
